Fontwell Division covers – Aldingbourne, Barnham, Binsted, Eastergate, Flansham, Fontwell, Lidsey, Madehurst, Norton, Slindon, Walberton, Westergate and Woodgate.
I have lived in Fontwell District for over twenty years and care deeply about the community I live in and the everyday challenges people face. Having worked in the voluntary sector and as a teacher, I know first-hand the difference high quality local services make to people’s day to day lives and futures.
As your county councillor for Fontwell, I will pursue these matters:
- An integrated bus and rail system rather than building more roads.
- Improvement in the condition of our lanes and roads.
- Traffic calming measures in our villages.
- Effective flood management planning.
- Protection of our environment and countryside– ending sewage spills in our villages, streams and riverways and stopping littering and fly tipping.
- Affordable housing in the right place at the right price.
- Provision of the local services needed by our communities.
- Safer streets through initiative such as Sussex Safe Spaces.
I believe that our communities have a vital role to play in decision-making. As your county councillor I will hold regular community surgeries. I will work closely with local parish councils and Arun District Council to make sure residents’ voices are heard at all levels of local government.
